“Excellent restaurant in Buffalo”
My girlfriend and I dined here for the first time on a Friday evening in March last year, and we both decided to try their seafood entrees. Hutch’s provided excellent quality and quantity. The service was just right, and the atmosphere was unpretentious. In terms of décor, it’s rather simple but pleasant. I’d recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a fine meal in Buffalo. Great place!

“Top 5 restaurants…”
One of the Top 5 restaurants in Buffalo. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Pricey, but worth it. Steaks are outstanding. A good place to bring a date, or to celebrate a big event.

“Excellent dining – if you can get a reservation”
We were recommended Hutch’s by a fellow traveler in Buffalo. He kindly gave us his reservation as he had other plans. Am I glad we accepted it! The staff was professional and friendly. Our table was located near the entrance. The telephone rang off the hook with people wanting reservations (we sat right next to it). They were mostly booked up for the following weekend already. I don’t know what the weeknights are like, but it seems that weekends book up at least a week in advance. They were booked solid for the night we were there and the only reason our fellow traveler got the reservation was someone canceled. Good timing. The food was good. I had the half rack of ribs and the field greens – more than enough food for me. Quite tasty and portion size was good! This is definitely a popular place with the locals. I’d go back. Tip: Reserve either early like 5pm or after 9pm - A better chance of having a table or two available.

“Great food, comfortable atmosphere”
I went to Hutch’s as recommended by the staff at the Mansion on Delaware where I was staying during July 2006. It was a very nice recommendation! The restaurant does not look like much from the outside but inside you will find a quaint, colorful, and contemporary place to dine. The tables were cozy with white linens and a single votive placed on each one.
The service was very good – pleasant and prompt without being obtrusive. The waitress was knowledgeable about the entrees and specials. The food was wonderful as well – I enjoyed the filet medallions and a cocktail, as well as a dessert in what proved to be a most enjoyable dining experience. Overall, the experience was very good!

“Unquestionably Buffalo’s most consistent best”
I never fail to be impressed by Hutch’s… the service, the ambiance, the crowd… very impressive without being pretentious like so many upscale ‘steakhouses.’ The service is always beyond reproach; the staff is knowledgeable and friendly and unflappable. Did I mention the food? Without peer here in Western New York. What other upscale restaurant dares put liver and onions on the menu? It’s so mouthwatering I can’t bring myself to order anything else… mouthwateringly tender calves liver, sweet caramelized onions, crisp slab bacon and pommery mustard; need I say more? Salads and appetizers are sized for sharing, and don’t miss the signature fruit cup dessert. No matter how much you already ate, there is always room for fresh berries, sweet whipped cream, and the most “to die for” cookie cup that ever passed your lips.
Some will argue that Hutch’s is pricey, and although there are more affordable alternatives in WNY, nothing can compare to the combination of food quality, attentive service, and overall ambiance provided by Hutch’s. Definitely a destination when you are entertaining out of town guests and aim to impress.
